In the course of capacity calculation procedures, both the Hungarian and foreign professional literature convert junctioncrossing motor vehicles to one, basic motor vehicle category: i.e. to passenger car, with the help of a unit vehicle multiplicator. In my present study I am seeking an answer to the question how the unit vehicle multiplicators – specified a couple of decades ago and applied in the Hungarian regulations until now – have changed in the light of vehicle composition and travel attributes.
